Illinois

Professional Development Hours (PDH) Requirements

Illinois professional engineers are required to earn 30 PDH biennially. All of the required hours can be earned through online continuing education courses. EZpdh.com courses are accepted by the Illinois State Board of Professional Engineers. The following table shows a quick rundown of license renewal requirements.

Online CoursesAccepted. For Professional Engineers, there is no limit on the number of PDHs that can be earned through online continuing education. For Structural Engineers, no more than 10 hours of the 30 hours required may be earned through online continuing education and cannot be used as continuing education for Illinois Structural Engineers
