This course satisfies the 1 required hour of professional ethics, ref. §3105 A.1
In this course the student will study the Louisiana Board of Professional Engineering and Land Surveying Board (lapels) Laws & Rules including Professional Engineering Ethics. A twenty-five question quiz will test his or her understanding of the subject.

ADA Standards for Accessible Designs: 6 PDH

This course satisfies the minimum four required hours of ADA, ref. §3105 A.2
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is a federal civil rights law intended to protect qualified persons with disabilities from discrimination in employment, government services and programs, transportation, public accommodations, and telecommunications. The ADA covers a wide range of legal and regulatory issues with regard to Americans with disabilities. This course will focus on the Americans with Disabilities Act Accessibility Guidelines for Buildings and Facilities (the ADA Accessibility Design Guidelines), with which engineers and architects need to comply when working on new constructions or alterations of existing structures.

Carbon Absorption of Volatile Organic Compounds: 3 PDH

Carbon adsorption is used in air pollution control to remove volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from low to medium concentration gas streams, when stringent outlet concentration must be met and/or recovery of the VOC is desired. This course covers the types of adsorbers, adsorption theory, and design procedures for carbon adsorption equipment.

Hazardous Waste Identification: 2 PDH

This course covers hazardous waste regulated by the EPA under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), starting with determining whether what waste is considered a solid waste according to the RCRA regulations and moving on to determining if it fits one of the RCRA requirements for being a hazardous waste.

Wastewater Treatment Plants: 1 PDH

Package plants are pre-manufactured wastewater treatment facilities typically used to treat flows between 0.01 and 0.25 MGD. This course provides information about three types of package plants, extended aeration, sequencing batch reactor and oxidation ditch systems. General configuration, typical applications for each, advantages and disadvantages, typical performance, and cost are covered.
