Professional Development Hours (PDH) Requirements

Kansas professional engineers are required to earn 30 PDH biennially. All of the required hours can be earned through online continuing education courses. EZpdh.com courses are accepted by the Kansas State Board of Technical Professions. The following table shows a quick rundown of license renewal requirements.

Course ContentTechnical, ethical, or managerial content relevant to the practice of engineering. A majority of the hours claimed must address health, safety and welfare issues and technical competency
Online CoursesAccepted. For Professional Engineers, there is no limit on the number of PDHs that can be earned through online continuing education; however, only a maximum of five self-study CEUs may be applied in any one renewal period.
PDH CarryoverA maximum of 30 PDH may be carried forward into the next renewal period, except that no carry-over hours are allowed for the first reporting period

  1. PDH completion records must be maintained for a minimum of 4 years.
