Professional Development Hours (PDH) Requirements
Kansas professional engineers are required to earn 30 PDH biennially. All of the required hours can be earned through online continuing education courses. EZpdh.com courses are accepted by the Kansas State Board of Technical Professions. The following table shows a quick rundown of license renewal requirements.
|30 hours biennially
|April 30 of even-numbered years for licensees whose last name begins with one of the letters A through LApril 30 of odd-numbered years for licensees whose last name begins with one of the letters M through Z
|The Board does not require pre-approval for providers or specific courses. Each engineer must determine whether an activity meets the Board’s requirements
|Technical, ethical, or managerial content relevant to the practice of engineering. A majority of the hours claimed must address health, safety and welfare issues and technical competency
|Accepted. For Professional Engineers, there is no limit on the number of PDHs that can be earned through online continuing education; however, only a maximum of five self-study CEUs may be applied in any one renewal period.
|A maximum of 30 PDH may be carried forward into the next renewal period, except that no carry-over hours are allowed for the first reporting period
