Maine State Requirements

Maine professional engineers are required to earn 30 PDH biennially. All of the required hours can be earned through online continuing education courses. EZpdh.com courses are accepted by the Maine State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers. The following table shows a quick rundown of license renewal requirements.

Course Approval The Board does not require pre-approval for providers or specific courses. Each engineer must determine whether an activity meets the Board’s requirements
Course Content Courses must cover material which is technical, ethical, or managerial content relevant to the practice of engineering. Business skills, personal development skills, computer skills unrelated to the practice of engineering, and subjects that are considered elementary or entry-level and normally expected to have been completed by a PE prior to registration are not accepted. The Board may require additional information to prove that courses covering managerial skills are relevent to the engineer’s practice
Online Courses Accepted. For Professional Engineers, there is no limit on the number of PDHs that can be earned through online continuing education.
PDH Carryover A maximum of 15 PDH may be carried forward into the next renewal period
