The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is a federal civil rights law intended to protect qualified persons with disabilities from discrimination in employment, government services and programs, transportation, public accommodations, and telecommunications. The ADA covers a wide range of legal and regulatory issues with regard to Americans with disabilities. This course will focus on the Americans with Disabilities Act Accessibility Guidelines for Buildings and Facilities (the ADA Accessibility Design Guidelines), with which engineers and architects need to comply when working on new constructions or alterations of existing structures.

In this course the student will understand basic concepts in designing and maintaining gravel surfaced roads and essential tips to ensure lasting performance.

In this course the student will understand the basics of residential construction and design, residential structural design concepts and design loads for residential buildings and to gain an understanding of modern design methods and concepts for light-frame homes, apartments, and townhouses.
