Alaska professional engineers are required to earn 24 PDH biennially. All of the required hours can be earned through online continuing education courses. EZpdh.com courses are accepted by the Alaska State Board of Registration for Architects, Engineers & Land Surveyors. The following table shows a quick rundown of license renewal requirements.
Subject Requirement Hours Required 24 hours biennially Renewal Dates December 31 odd years Course Approval The Board does not require pre-approval for providers or specific courses. Each engineer must determine whether an activity meets the Board's requirements Course Content Courses must be relevant to the engineer’s field of practice and may include content of a technical, ethical, or managerial nature. Subject matter must address the health, safety, and welfare of the public. Persons holding Alaska registration in more than one area must meet a minimum of 8 PDH per biennial period in each registration area Online Courses Accepted. For Professional Engineers, there is no limit on the number of PDHs that can be earned through online continuing education PDH Carryover A maximum of 12 PDH may be carried forward into the next renewal period Additional - The Board specifically states that personal self-improvement courses, equipment demonstrations, trade shows, and topics not relevant to the registrant’s field of practice will not be accepted for PDH credit
- If a registrant is currently registered in another jurisdiction which has mandatory CE requirements that are substantially similar to or exceed those of Alaska, the registrant may certify that he/she has met all CE requirements in that jurisdiction
- PDH completion records must be maintained for a minimum of 4 years. EZpdh helps you meet this requirement by providing you with the ability to instantly access and print a certificate upon successful completion of a course. Additionally, your certificates of completion are securely maintained by EZpdh for a minimum of seven years and can be accessed online at any time through your login account
