The student must take a multiple-choice quiz consisting of twenty (20) questions at the end of this course to earn PDH credits.

The purpose of this course is to familiarize the engineer with the basic principles of earthquake-resistant design for residential construction. Adequate construction is required in order for a structure to fair well during and after an earthquake. This course will cover the general earthquake-resistance requirements in the International Residential Code, IRC, and requirements for foundation and floor construction.
