Roundabouts Part 3: 5 PDH
$30.00
This is part III of a three-part series. The third course covering the final chapters 6, 7, & 8 of Roundabouts: An Informational Guide from the Federal Highway Administration. In this course the student will learn the many different ways to design a roundabout and what steps are taken to ensure the most efficient and safe roundabout for a given location. Also covered are the signage requirements, landscaping potential, and multi-roundabout systems that can be used when designing a roundabout.

They will gain foundational knowledge of material properties, mix design, construction techniques, and quality assurance protocols essential to RCC implementation.Instructor: Raymond Bosek, PESPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE OR SKILL OBTAINED
This course teaches the following specific knowledge and skills:
- Define roller-compacted concrete and distinguish it from conventional concrete and embankment materials in terms of composition and application
- Evaluate the suitability of materials, including aggregates, cementitious substances, and admixtures, for RCC construction
- Design RCC mixture proportions to meet structural and performance criteria based on strength, durability, and workability requirements
- Apply best practices for RCC placement, compaction, and construction using specialized equipment and techniques
- Implement quality assurance and quality control procedures throughout the RCC construction process
- Analyze the performance of RCC structures post-construction with respect to watertightness, durability, and structural integrity

$24.00 Add to cartIt is estimated that over a third of the 4.09 million miles of roadway in the United States are not paved. These are typically unpaved gravel or dirt roads, and they’re mostly located throughout rural areas and communities where the volume of traffic is so low that paving and maintaining a paved road is not economically feasible. In this course the student will understand basic concepts in designing and maintaining gravel surfaced roads and essential tips to ensure lasting performance.Instructor: Raymond Bosek, PESPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE OR SKILL OBTAINED
This course teaches the following specific knowledge and skills:
- Explain gravel roadways routine maintenance and rehabilitation
- Discuss drainage and its importance
- Describe surface gravel types
- Discuss dust control and stabilization
- Recognize innovations and recent trends
- Explain construction guidelines and gradation determination
- Explain gravel road project quantity calculations
- Discuss gravel deterioration and when to pave
