The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is a federal civil rights law intended to protect qualified persons with disabilities from discrimination. The ADA covers a wide range of legal and regulatory issues with regard to Americans with disabilities. This course will focus on the Americans with Disabilities Act Accessibility Guidelines for Buildings and Facilities (the 2010 ADA Accessibility Design Guidelines): it will cover an overview of ADA, its impact/compliance on new construction and existing facilities and will deep dive into chapter 3: Building Blocks of the ADA guidelines covering in detail all regulations and requirements.Instructor: Raymond Bosek, PE

This course teaches the following specific knowledge and skills:

    • Describe the ADA guidelines and a foundation for navigating them
    • Discuss what the ADA is, and all the regulations involved
    • Understand the ADA and its impact & compliance
    • Examine and understand all regulations in Chapter 3 of the ADA guidelines

This 1 hour (50 min) webinar satisfies online live instruction required for Ohio, New York, Wisconsin & Iowa Licensed Professional Engineers.
